Eggborough Village – Reports of Misuse of Fireworks |

North Yorkshire Police have received reports of youths setting off fireworks in Eggborough village on the evening of 21/10/25. The locations of the reports were near to the Village Hall park and close to Kellington Lane, near to the road and passing vehicles.
The identity of the youths are unknown at this time.
Please can we appeal to parents and carers to remind those young people that they are responsible for that it s ILLEGAL to :
Possess an adult firework if under the age of 18yrs
Throw fireworks
Use fireworks between 11pm and 7am, except on Bonfire Night, when fireworks can be used only up until midnight.
Further to this, Category 4 fireworks are large, powerful fireworks and intended for professional use only – they are illegal to have in any other capacity.
As Halloween and Bonfire Night approach, we encourage all families, children, and older young persons to have fun, however any reports of anti-social behaviour and/ or misuse of fireworks will be dealt with robustly to ensure the safety and well being of all.
Breaching the peace can lead to arrest.
